She coordinates the work of the team of the HHS Office of Research, which includes pre-award, post-award, statistical consultation, and financial management staff. |
AOR | Assumption of Risk | An internal form which allows the University to assume responsibility for research costs incurred prior to funds being received for an awarded grant and allows work to begin; now known as Pre-Award Risk Assumption (PRA) |
Cayuse | Cayuse | Cayuse or Cayuse Research Suite isthe cloud-based electronic research administration software system used by UNCG. |

COI | Cayuse Outside Interests | System of approvals and review intended to set appropriate bounds for outside activities that may create a financial conflict of interest or require a formal management plan; formerly known as Conflict of Interest (COI) |

EPAF | Electronic Personnel Action Form | An internal form which processes personnel and salary actions, such as charging a portion of salary to a grant fund or processing summer add pay |
F&A | Facilities & Administrative | Federally negotiated rate to cover the facilities and administrative costs incurred by the University (currently 45.5%) |
GRA | Graduate Assistant | A paid student position that supports the teaching, research, or service mission of UNCG |
GROWTH | Gerontology Research, Outreach, Workforce, & Teaching Hub | A cooperative group of UNCG faculty who facilitate and support transdisciplinary aging-related research, education, and outreach |
HHS OOR | Health and Human Sciences Office of Research | The HHS School level office that aids in research administration |
HIRN | Health Improvement Research Network | A group of faculty members and researchers whose scholarship and teaching includes work about how the health system is structured, health promotion/prevention/care is delivered, and desired outcomes are achieved |
IACUC | Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee | Ensures the ethical care and use of animals used in research studies |
IBC | Institutional Biosafety Committee | Protect study personnel, the environment, and the community from biohazardous agents |

NCE | No Cost Extension | An extension of an NIH award which allows additional project time of up to 12 months, with no additional funds |
NIH | National Institutes of Health | The medical research branch of the Department of Health and Human Services; possible funder |
NOA | Notice of Award | The official grant award notification received upon award of an NIH grant. Some other funders use NGA: notice of grant award. |

ORE | Office of Research & Engagement | The internal office of research and engagement at UNCG; oversees OSP, ORI, convenes RAC, houses several research centers, etc. |
ORI | Office of Research Integrity | Internal office at UNCG tasked with creating and providing clarity in research integrity policies and procedures that promote research |
