Faculty Excellence Awards

The purpose of the Health and Human Sciences Faculty Excellence Awards is to recognize HHS faculty members for their outstanding research contributions and for their outstanding community engaged scholarship. Each year, one tenured and one untenured faculty member may be recognized with research excellence awards, and one faculty member may be recognized for their contribution to community engagement. Three awards may be given which are as follows:

1. The Junior Excellence Award is for an untenured faculty member (Tenure Track or Academic Professional Track).
2. The Senior Excellence Award is for a tenured faculty member; the award is based on the nominee’s career-long body of research.
3. The Community Engaged Scholar Award is for a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in scholarly engagement with a community partner.

Faculty Research Grants

The HHS Office of Research provides competitive internal research grants for which all HHS faculty may apply; this includes tenured and tenure track faculty. Also, AP faculty whose positions require external research funding may apply.

These awards are for projects showing strong potential for external funding. Collaborative efforts are strongly encouraged. At this time, these grants are awarded once a year. Here are the names and projects of the current and previous recipients.
