National Girls and Women in Sports Day Flier
National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is an annual day of activity and observance held during the first week of February to acknowledge the accomplishments of female athletes, recognize the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and honor the progress and continuing efforts for equality for women in sports.

The Center for Women’s Health and Wellness is a long-time host of National Girls and Women in Sports Day in partnership with Girl Scouts of the Piedmont Triad, the Greensboro Boys and Girls Club, local YMCA’s and the UNCG Athletic Department.

On this important day we aim to introduce girls to sports they may have never considered participating in, like tackle football and to introduce them to lifetime physical activity opportunities that they can participate in with little to no equipment and limited space, like jump rope.
