Dr. Carmen Monico, a faculty teaching in the Joint MSW and PhD Programs, contributed to two chapters in the book titled “Social Work in Health Emergencies: Global Perspectives”, which just got published. According to the Routledge publishers, “This is the first comprehensive book that provides accessible, international knowledge for practitioners, students and academics about social work in health emergencies and spans fields of practice across world regions with particular reference to the COVID-19 pandemic.” The chapters to which Dr. Monico contributed were focused on the “Regions of the World and the COVID-19 Health Emergency” and the “Impacts of Global Pandemics on People on the Move.” The printed and online versions of the book will be released on March 1, 2022,and can be pre-ordered.co@uncg.edu.
