- Am I eligible for the Eiserer Scholarship?
To be eligible, applicants must be incoming freshman admitted to UNCG in the Department of Kinesiology. Applicants should also be graduates of the Montgomery County Public School System in Maryland. - What are the academic requirements to be considered for the scholarship?
Entering students must have at least a 3.0 grade point average from high school. If selected, the recipient must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA at the end of the first year, a 3.0 GPA at the end of the second and third years. - Are there any other qualities that candidates should possess?
Participation in leadership activities in kinesiology and other extracurricular activities in high school is encouraged. - How much is the scholarship?
The award covers 100% of out-of-state tuition, fees, and on-campus living expenses. - Is the scholarship renewable?
The award is renewable for up to three years, if the recipient remains in good academic standing. Typically, students are expected to graduate after four years of study. - What are other Eiserer scholars doing?
Previous Eiserer scholars have successful careers in a range of professions, including physician’s assistant, physical education teacher, and physical therapist. A recent graduate is currently in law school! - Who should I contact for more information about the scholarship?

History
The Carol Jean Eiserer Memorial Scholarship fund was established in June 1986, in memory of Carol Jean Eiserer by her parents, Leonard A. C. Eiserer and Lorraine E. Eiserer.
Carol Jean Eiserer graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (then the Woman’s College) in 1964. For 22 years she was a loyal contributor to the Alumni Annual Giving Campaign of the University. The significance of the meaning of this scholarship is amplified by the fact that one month prior to her death in May 1986, while in the hospital, she directed her father to mail a check for $1,000 to the Annual Giving Program at UNCG.
