Vannessa’s research agenda is focused on the experiences of marginalized and underrepresented communities with an emphasis on People of Color (POC) and Aging Adults.

She is especially interested in how people are impacted by inequities and how they manifest resilience and recovery when faced with health, mental health, and substance use challenges.
