Ms. Adams earned a B.S. in Nutrition in 1960 and an M.S. in Biology – Human Genetics/Medical Genetics in 1977. Ms. Adams is credited with bringing the profession of genetic counseling to North Carolina almost 35 years ago. She created her own plan of study and clinical practicum in the field of Human Genetics and went on to become the first genetic counselor in North Carolina.
When the UNCG Genetic Counseling Program was created in Fall 2000, Ms. Adams was an integral member of the planning committee. She remains active in the program as a member of the External Advisory Committee and as a clinical supervisor.
