The HHS Public Service Award may be given to an individual or group who, in his or her role as a member of the faculty (including emeriti faculty), staff, administration, or as alumni or friends, has made an extraordinary contribution to the mission and advancement of the School of Health and Human Sciences.
The 2016 HHS Public Service Award recipient is Dr. Donna Biederman. Dr. Donna Biederman graduated from the Department of Public Health Education’s doctoral program in Community Health Education in 2012. Dr. Biederman is an Assistant Professor at Duke University’s School of Nursing.
She is the Research and Education Director of the Durham Medical Respite Steering Committee, a program for homeless persons transitioning from an acute care facility.
