Gerontology Program
Ms. Blater was one of the first Gerontology Program students to complete the Master of Science in Gerontology with the Non-Profit Certificate in 2008.
While still a student, she obtained a consulting position with the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services to develop an emergency preparedness plan. The tool-kit that she developed was distributed throughout the state and it remains the standard in emergency preparedness.
Ms. Blater is now the Director of the North Carolina Family Caregiver Support Program. Among her many other accomplishments, she led the securing and management of a very successful, federally funded Lifespan Respite project that involves multiple public and private partners.
